Summer Arts

What is the Summer Arts Program?

The Summer Arts Program is an opportunity for students to spend a few hours each week learning to explore different artistic mediums.  Some sessions are themed by topic (like “Mozart Day”) with 3-4 activities of different art projects using different mediums… music, dance, literature, writing or visual arts could all be incorporated into a themed day.  Some sessions are organized based on a specific medium – like acrylic painting class, theater week, or watercolor. These sessions may be a full 2-hour block of time to complete a single project.

Who can attend Summer Arts?

Open to students that have completed Grades K-12.  Priority placement is given to students in the Pine City School District as 100% of the funding for this free program has been contributed by businesses & organizations in this region.  Students from outside our district may register for classes if a parent or grandparent is a member of the Art Center.

When does the program run?

The 2019 sessions will be held for 3 weeks in June and 3 weeks in July.  Last year we extended the program to include high school students as well.  The class offerings will be shared around May 1st once all classes are finalized.  For planning purposes, the classes are arranged as follows:

  • Mondays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM ~ Students who are completing 7th – 12th grade
  • Tuesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM ~ Students who are completing Kindergarten & 1st Grade
  • Wednesdays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM ~ Students who are completing 2nd & 3rd Grade
  • Thursdays from 1:00 – 3:00 PM ~ Students who are completing 4th, 5th & 6th Grade

How do we register?

Use the links below to register your student!

Because our space only allows room for 20-25 students, we want to allow the maximum number of students to participate.  Registrations are accepted throughout the summer until a class session is full. We also have some last minute cancellations that happen… so we welcome parents to contact us the day before a class to see if there is still room & supplies to be added.

Contacting us by email or facebook message ensures the fastest response!
